Henry Ford incorporated Henry Ford & Son, Inc. in 1917 specifically to mass-produce a farm tractor, and the resulting machine took the company's name — a contraction of "Ford" and "son" trademarked as Fordson. It became the world's first mass-produced tractor and, alongside the Model T, helped mechanize agriculture in America and abroad, with production later shifting overseas to Cork, Ireland (1928–1933) and then Dagenham, England (1933–1964). As Ford consolidated its worldwide tractor operations into a single unified line, the Fordson name was retired in 1964 in favor of the simple "Ford" badge used globally.
