The Farmall Super C was International Harvester's upgraded successor to the Farmall C, produced from 1951 to 1954 with a larger 123-cubic-inch engine and the new Touch-Control hydraulic system. Roughly 112,000 were built, making it one of the most popular small tricycle-front row-crop tractors of the early 1950s. It shared much of its running gear with the offset Super A, giving IH a matched pair of one- and two-plow tractors for small and mid-size farms.

History

Introduced in 1951, the Super C replaced the original Farmall C with a bored-out C-123 engine and IH's new live-hydraulics Touch-Control system, which let operators raise and lower mounted implements with a finger-tip lever rather than the older mechanical Lift-All linkage. The tricycle front end — twin closely spaced front wheels — gave the Super C sharp row-crop visibility and maneuverability that made it a favorite for cultivating corn, cotton, and other row crops on small-to-mid-size family farms.

The Super C sold alongside the offset Super A as IH's pair of affordable one- and two-plow tractors through the early 1950s. Both were retired in 1954 when IH transitioned to the numbered 100/200 series, part of a company-wide model renumbering that also swept away the larger Super M and Super H in favor of the 300 and 400 series.
